An Ode to Nature

Nestled in the heart of the Charente Limousine region, the Domaine des Étangs covers more than 1,000 hectares of forests, meadows, ponds, and farmland. This exceptional place embodies a holistic vision where agriculture and culture interact in harmony, in an ecosystem designed for living organisms. Agriculture is practiced with respect and awareness: organic breeding of Limousin cows, permaculture vegetable gardens, biodynamic apiaries, and PEFC-certified forest management. Since 2023, under the leadership of Garance Primat, the management has strengthened market gardening to move towards food self-sufficiency, while reducing intensive livestock farming. This approach is accompanied by rigorous monitoring of biodiversity indicators to ensure a balance between agricultural production and ecosystem regeneration. But the estate is also a cultural hotspot. The Garance Primat Collection, universal and humanistic, displays contemporary, world, and scientific artworks in an in situ exhibition where art questions our relationship with nature and the cosmos. Here, the earth nourishes the mind as much as it nourishes the body. The Domaine des Étangs offers a sensory and introspective experience, where every element—from the ground to the sky—contributes to a quest for balance between humans and their environment.
